Job Description:

Defines, plans and executes approved new research/development projects. This includes development of the scope of work and planning documentation, establishing success/performance criteria and quality requirements for new products.
Acts as Project Manager for large, high profile research/development projects. Coordinates resources activities, lab/pilot plant and/or full scale test work to validate design concepts.
Supervises and trains lower level R&D personnel on assigned projects, ensuring adherence to project goals, established safety standards and regulations, etc.
Writes technical reports on R&D projects and testing results and makes presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Reviews reports of lower level engineering personnel for accuracy of technical content, completeness and format.
Interfaces with Product Managers, customers, etc, and assists in developing short and long-term technology strategies to support the development goals of the company.
Generates ideas for possible new development projects, evaluates feasibility and presents results to management for consideration.

Knowledge & Skills:

B.S. degree in one of the engineering disciplines preferred with extensive experience in hands-on process operation and demonstrated supervisory experience. Must have established credibility in knowledge of mineral processing equipment and applications.
Travels up to 25% of the time (mostly to job sites).
Ability to conduct complex investigations, tests, technical calculations and research data.
Proven organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Requires excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Must be proficient in the use of the personal computer using company standard software.
