Sterile Processing Certification required or 5+ years of prior experience. Shift will be variable, mostly evenings but must be flexible. Ability to take call is required. We are looking for a flexible candidate. 13 week assignment. All candidates MUST HAVE Sterile Processing experience! JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Sterilize instruments, equipment, utensils, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerators, load autoclaves in the prescribed manner and set controls to specified time and temperature according to material and requirements of items being sterilized, complete appropriate documentation records prior to sterilization, read and initial autoclave graph to verify appropriate sterilization cycle and provide required records for the Public Health Department inspection. 2. Assemble all instrument procedure trays, packs, and kits according to the prescribed manner using content list as a guide, wrap package and handle all items following procedure, mark items with identifying data and distribute or store in designated area, notify Lead technician when unable to replace parts or equipment, deficiencies in the work area. 3. Dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies, assign priority to emergency requests and issue required supplies and equipment based on knowledge of procedure intended, assemble and wrap material, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique. 4. Disassemble and clean equipment using approved disinfectant, detergents, sops and cleaners, reassemble equipment after cleaning and operate to test for proper functioning, replace lost or damaged parts such as tubes, containers and connectors from stock on hand, complete required forms and transfer inoperable equipment in a clean and organized condition to maintain required standards for handling sterilized and clean materials and to maintain a safe work environment. 5. Assist in orientation of new employees to each work assignment area and total department operation. 6. Perform other related duties as required reporting inoperable equipmentm, making visual inventory inspections to maintain adequate stock and supply levels, test effectiveness of autoclave function by assembling and placing cultures spore tests following procedure, store new and reprocessed equipment and supplies, clean shelves and work areas and mop liquid spills from floors as necessary.
