Description: An Oakville company is seeking a Sr. Engineer for this newly created opportunity due to growth in their business.

Summary
• Responsible for varied engineering assignments requiring familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields.
• Review design and documentation to ensure compliance with specification criteria and applicable standards.

Scope of responsibilities may include:

Major Responsibilities
• Optimizes designs to ensure standards and opportunities are maximized, which will result in cost reductions and performance enhancements.
• Reviews customer specifications/designs, calculations, costs, and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings or to other specifications.
• May give technical guidance to junior engineer(s) of less standing, or technical staff assigned to work on a common project.
• Analyzes data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product application.
• Confers with potential clients and company personnel to clarify or resolve problems.
• Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics using AutoCAD
• Ensures that the latest Engineering practices and methods are utilized in the design.
• Attends project meetings to discuss design parameters, special requirements and to obtain additional information/clarification.
• Ensures that the designs and details produced by department personnel meet engineering standards and customer specifications

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science with a minimum 5-10 years related working experience from the graduation level.
• Membership with Professional Engineer Association(s) or currently in the process
• Direct experience with our building products and building envelope design.
• Civil or structural engineering experience is a must, with very strong design skills. There could be some project management aspects to the position
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
