Click Here to Apply OnlineThe Regional Support Centre will provide support for ICT systems throughout the Americas and Caribbean. To achieve this we require a highly motivated individual with a flexible approach who has a broad and detailed ICT experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to carry out the essential duties and have the qualities listed below:
Understand quickly the Foreign & Commonwealth Office ICT policies and procedures and promulgate them to users, IT Support Officers (ITSO) and Technical Management Officers (TMO) in the region;
Manage spares including maintaining stocks, movement to/from despatch/deployment location, packing/unpacking and recording their movements;
Support ICT hardware including server, desktop, network and peripherals. Talk to Users/ITSO/TMO through repairs and visiting site to effect repairs where required. Repair hardware that has been returned to the Regional Support Centre and test prior to despatch;
Support ICT software including Microsoft Operating Systems (NT, 2003, Vista etc), Microsoft Back office products (SQL, Exchange etc), Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel etc) and networking software (Cisco, 3Com etc);
Maintain records of incidents resolved and action taken using service desk tool;
Manage small ICT installations and changes including scoping and planning, raising Request For Change, co-ordinating ICT specialists/Users/ITSO/TMO and carrying out the work;
Liase with third party (Hewlett Packard, DHL, etc.) service representatives to request service and resolve issues;
Support Regional Support Centre Manager in his duties;
Visit sites in the region to effect repairs.
Skills:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
Must have certification in Microsoft (MCSE, MCTS etc), Cisco (CCNA etc), and ITIL;
Experience working for/with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office is an advantage;
Must hold a valid driving licence;
Ability to communicate in English complex ICT information in layman’s terms to customers; Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Must be able to travel to all locations in the Americas and the Caribbean; must hold a valid passport enabling unrestricted travel;
Ability to work around flexible hours will be required including some evenings and weekends.
