Financial Analyst - (US-NY-Freeport - 11520)

Objective:
Provide strong analytical skills to assist the organization in making informed financial decisions. Take part in the analysis, enhancement proposals and testing of system changes, improvements and/or automation of processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a full time position. To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily.
Include the following, other duties and special projects may be assigned:
Strategic partner with regional and corporate departments to ensure financial and business growth
Analysis of gross profit , operational revenue and cost of sales accounts with trends and comparison reporting in coordination with Regional Controlling staff for both SIUS and SLI
Month-end Access database maintenance and reporting
Month-end and year-end closing and reporting journal entry review, support, analysis and control
Credit note, file closing and duty processes and reporting thereof
Forecasting, budgeting, midterm planning and related presentations
Refining of and documentation of internal controls and standard operating procedures
Participation in system reconciliations, variance reporting and resolutions
System upgrade and enhancement testing and automation of processes
Preparation of audit schedules within areas of p&l for all internal and external audits for both SIUS and SLI
Reporting to US parent in US GAAP standards
Reporting to German Parent in IFRS standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in areas of accounting or finance
Forecasting and budgeting experience mandatory
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance. MBA background preferable.
Forecasting and budgeting experience mandatory
Microsoft Office tools proficiency with mastery of Access and Excel
Strong analytical skills
Strong written and oral communication skills required, and candidate must be a dedicated team player.
Prior SAP experience and Working knowledge of IFRS preferred.
Working Knowledge of US GAAP mandatory.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT CONSIDERATIONS:
Some travel may be required
