Purpose of Job: This position is responsible to identify, design, implement and monitor wellness programs to increase employee health production for specific customer(s). Position will be located at customer site and will take overall work direction from local management. Direct reporting relationship will be to the Director, Key Accounts Account Management, at the local health plan. Primary Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify, design and implement wellness initiatives to optimize employee health and productivity, coordinating a city-wide employee wellness program including but not limited to chairing the Wellness Committee; planning and coordinating wellness events, classes and communication; monitoring the wellness budget and researching best practices.
- Ability to monitor disease management program reports; analyze data and provide reports to management, monitor and report on large loss claims on a quarterly basis; organize and attend quarterly vendor/staff meetings; meet with individual employees to discuss wellness needs; and provide follow-up information and/or analysis as needed.
- Ability to work with individuals in all departments, including supervisors and department heads, to assure the greatest possible degree of coordination of health/wellness within the organization.
- Ability to identify key health risk and participant needs through review of aggregate data from United Healthcare Health Assessment and benefit plan data to assist in the design and implementation of city-wide health and wellness initiatives targeting those areas of greatest need and concern to the organization.

Experience: Qualifications:
- The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, and one year of occupational health nursing experience is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- RN Licensure valid and unrestricted for the state of Texas.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of professional occupational health nursing and health maintenance.
- Knowledge of effective principles, methods and materials used in worksite educational programs.
- Knowledge of how wellness integrates with disease management and other related benefit areas.
- Knowledge of employee benefits programs and claim processing procedures.
- Knowledge of the principles of benefit plan design and cost control procedures.
- Skill in research and data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and/or independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public, health care providers, and community agencies.
- Ability to deal with individuals representing a broad socioeconomic spectrum.
- Skill in communicating effectively conceptual or informative ideas to others in written or oral form and influence opinions, attitudes or judgments.
- Skill in organization and preparation of communication material to employees, managers and council members.
- Skill in counseling and interviewing employees regarding benefit issues.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with outside business concerns, agencies and employees.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to, carrying, filing, holding, pulling, pushing, seeing, sorting, sitting, standing, twisting body, walking and writing.
