Job Description: 
The team leader's responsibilities include planning and managing all aspects of team assigned projects.

The team leader supports sector goals and objectives by, assisting the market leader in planning and business development, providing technical and production leadership, and quality control review for team projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Market Planning and Business Development:
Assist the market leader in achieving sector goals with an eye to financial sustainability, growth, and sound business practices.

Work with the market leader to create and implement a business development plan in support of sector goals, including assistance with occasional marketing efforts.

Assist the market leader in planning and organizing client appreciation events.

Interface with clients and other company offices.

Coordinate, prepare and respond to RFP's assigned by the market leader.

Technical and Production Leadership:
Project management, production management, engineering design, and mentoring.

Organize and manage teams; including scheduling and executing team meetings, compiling work assignments, interfacing with other teams, defining project priorities for engineering and drafting resources, and implementing quality control.

Participate and provide input to short and long term operations planning for the department, to include staffing and technical capability development.

Collaborate with other sectors, team leaders and market leaders on multi-disciplinary and multi-sector projects.

Review and approve project invoices.

Provide technical guidance to team members.

Define and recommend to the market leader technology needs for the team such as software programs and hardware upgrades.

Oversee all aspects of planning and design for creation of project plans and specifications for team projects.

Assign team members a balanced mix of engineering and design tasks to encourage new learning experiences and variety.

Assist the market leader and other team leaders to keep team members productive.

Team Supervision:
Supervisor of team members (except disciplinary measures and termination).

Conduct annual performance reviews of team members (market leader present during review).

Approve team member's time sheets.

Team Development:
Assist market leader in interviewing and developing team members.

Provide input to the market leader to assist in annual performance management sessions for each team member. Provide observations related to performance and recommend goals for the coming year.

Recommend professional and technical training needs for team members were needed.

Identify the needs of the team for additional personnel resources in the short-term. Participate in the interviewing process with the market leader.

Orientation of new team members with assistance of market leader.

Industry Leadership:
Service in professional organizations, technical writing/ publishing, design awards, innovation, professional & association networking.

Assist in increasing visibility of Ulteig Engineers to enhance business development opportunities through active participation beyond basic membership in at least one community service organization or one key professional organization. Work with the market leader to capitalize on opportunities for presentations and publications.
