Click Here to Apply OnlineThe Device QA Engineer will get busy validating the overall market readiness of our handset devices and their embedded applications. This includes the development and execution of manual and automated test cases, creating tickets and interfacing with internal teams to assist with the resolution of any issues. Work on exciting and exclusive mobile devices. Test cool applications on handsets and be a part of the latest in mobile device technologies.
To wrap it all up in a ball for you, the day-to-day would involve:
• Developing mobile device and application test cases and logging them in VMU central test case repository.
• Executing manual and automated functional, performance, field and protocol test cases.
• Reporting issues in VMU's mobile device bug tracking data base for processing by the engineering team.
• Assisting the engineering team in the resolution of these issues
• Work with the team to continuously develop new test procedures and process improvements.
Don’t be mistaken by the importance of this job. This position is critical in ensuring that mobile devices in VMU's handset roadmap get launched in the market on time and are of the quality our customers have come to expect. We don’t want THEM to catch bugs, we want YOU to do it! The quality and user experience of services on these devices directly affects customer satisfaction leading to lower churn.
Get your foot in the door with this rare junior/entry level role requiring some experience in software and hardware testing, preferably with mobile applications, content or devices. It requires a strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills and a desire to follow issues through to resolution. That said, bring us 1-2 years of mobile device or mobile applications development experience preferably within an OEM, mobile operator, SW developer or mobile content provider
Experience with standard project management and QA tools (MS Project, Bugzilla, Mercury) is highly desired. Ability to speak and write in Spanish is essential to the position. Time management and organizational skills are needed in this fast-paced environment. You must be able to demonstrate real world experience with risk mitigation and issue resolution approaches in the interview.
