Sr. Engineer - Electrical
The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is a public agency located in Southern California dedicated to maintaining world-class leadership in wastewater and water resource management. OCSD operates and maintains the third largest wastewater treatment facilities west of the Mississippi River.
Under general direction, leads and performs high-level engineering work involving District wastewater treatment and collection systems including project management, design, operational review and compliance. This is the highest, non-supervisory level engineer and is assigned the most complex engineering projects having significant impact on District operations. Specifically, this person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of energy usage including: power plant operations (production strategies, energy forecasting, optimized purchasing of energy, and air emissions compliance), HVAC systems, power systems planning support, and energy monitoring. This individual will also assist with the implementation of the District's Energy Master Plan, updating the electrical safety procedures, medium and low voltage relay coordination, and capital project support.
The successful candidate will possess the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. A Professional Engineer Registration from the State of California and a minimum of eight years of increasingly responsible engineering experience are required. A thorough understanding of electrical power systems, instrumentation & control, and energy/power management is very important. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, build teams, and mentor staff is important. The ability to read and prepare process and instrumentation diagrams & single line diagrams, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required. Any experience in wastewater treatment plant or collections system design is preferred.
SALARY RANGE:   $98,592.00 - $119,849.60
