The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for the procurement and supply of Instrumentation and control equipment, components, and parts and associated services to nuclear power plant customers. Assume quality assurance leadership role in all aspects of quality engineering, planning and assurance of quality delivery of hardware, services, and associated documentation for the assigned products / processes. Work proactively with suppliers, design engineering and product leaders to define specific product quality requirements. Develop inspection, verification, qualification and statistical process control methods, tests and processes to assure products and services can reliably meet all requirements (quality, regulatory and of global customers). Resolve customer as well as supplier quality concerns. Apply technical and quality knowledge and practical experience to the analysis, investigation, and solution of complex process problems to assure that prompt and effective action is taken to prevent or, as necessary, resolve quality issues. Implement changes to improve processes and product quality, optimize production of quality at the source, and eliminate failures / losses. Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures. Maintain quality assurance programs and procedures, and assure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide training of individuals in quality related activities. Professionally represent GE Nuclear Energy in the support of customer and regulatory audits and visits. Provide work direction and supervision to quality personnel as needed. Demonstrate and maintain customer focused team environment. Qualifications BSEE Degree or other 4-year degree in a technical discipline OR Technical Degree. 2+ years of experience working within a nuclear QA program (10CFR 50 Appendix "B") in procurement document processing, quality planning, supplier evaluation and performance assessment, and/or sourcing areas. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to travel to supplier facilities / sites and other GE locations. Desired Six sigma training, preferably Green Belt or Black Belt certified (GE Employees only). Familiarity with ASME Code, 10CFR50 Appendix B and ISO-9000 requirements. Lead auditor certification meeting the requirements of ANSI/ASME N45.2.6 and/or NQA-1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with various cultures and at all levels of the organization. Working understanding of electrical/electromechanical manufacturing processes. Prefer ability to start immediately upon hire (with in 60 days).
