The Area Sales Manager will lead commercial efforts for the GE-Prolec transformer operations in the T&D US Western region. *Team up with GE regional sales personnel to develop and growth the transformer market *Develop sales strategies in utility and industrial market segments including customer approvals and product positioning initiatives. *Lead ITO activities in the region including technical discussions, transactional commercial strategies, proposals, contract negotiations, and contract closure. *Follow-up on proposals, provide competitive feedback and competitor dynamics. *Develop a value proposition to differentiate us from the competition. *Manage pricing. *Define customer product needs to aid in business product development efforts. *Deliver on operating plan, Orders, sales and CM$.
Qualifications
*BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other field. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: *Willing to travel in the T&D U.S. Western Region.

*Strong commercial background with proven success in a sales, product management and/or marketing role. *Knowledge of Transmission & Distribution industry and technologies. *Capability to develop comprehensive business plans and strategies. *Well-developed sense of strategy, timing and advanced negotiation skills. *Capable of identifying and maximizing new ways of conducting business to create competitive advantages. *Fundamental financial analysis. *Self-confident individual with a strong commitment to take ownership and responsibility for actions. *Clear and concise communication skills. *Green Belt or Black Belt certification (GE Employees only). *Existing customer/market relationships.
