Is responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. * Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. * Provides technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. * Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. * Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments. * Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues. * Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. * Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science * At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position Desired * Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Ability to serve as an essential member of the Large Engine development test team and act as Engineer-in-Charge of highly complex development engine testing under the direction assigned technical program leader. * Ability to develop comprehensive plans to communicate engine assembly and test schedules internally and to organizations external to PTO. *Ability to provide technical leadership and interface with outside organizations including Systems Engineering, Evaluation, Performance, Instrumentation and Test Facilities Engineering to plan and execute exciting and complex development testing for the GEnx and GE90 engine programs. *Ability to work and communicate with experts at levels of the workforce from assembly and test technicians to upper level program management. Interpret procedures and drawings to assist technicians during assembly and Prep-to-Test activities. * Ability to utilize the NPI process to perform tollgate reviews to assure adequate planning, coordination and support of outside organizations during the test-planning phase. * Ability to coordinate and direct on-site development test activities including engine setup, data acquisition systems setup, support of slave Test Enabling Hardware systems and execution detailed test procedures. *Ability to write Development Problem Reports to assure timely communication of problems to Engineering and to improve overall product Quality. * Ability to write daily IOI's and participate in daily meetings to communicate engine status with program management at all levels. Generate complete technical Post Test Reports to communicate engineering/performance data to interfacing organizations. * Ability to initiate and support Six Sigma efforts to shorten cycle time, increase delivered quality and reduce cost.
