Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test Job Category: Software Testing Product: (Not Product Specific) Date Posted: 10/01/2008 Job Code: 240418 Location: WA - Redmond Travel Required: The Connected TV Devices team is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test to help build and ship software for Xbox 360's, HD TV's, and consumer electronic devices like DVD players that will enable users to play Live TV, record TV, listen to music, share digital photos, and access internet content. We are expanding into the realm of on demand content and direct to cloud connection and need your help defining and driving the testing as we take living room entertainment to new levels. Responsibilities As a feature test owner, you will be responsible for writing and executing test plans and cases, designing and developing test tools for digital media streaming/playback functionalities for Connected TV devices; analyzing, debugging and reporting code bugs, developing automation solutions for test suites you own and contributing to overall team automation strategies; working with feature PM and Dev counter parts in defining, reviewing user scenarios, feature and implementation specifications; Your responsibilities will also include driving improvements to existing test tools and processes; analyzing test results and defect patterns to improve test coverage; interfacing/coordinating work with internal and external partners, identify and managing areas of dependencies with other teams; connecting with customers, analyzing feedback from customers to identify and mitigate missing scenarios for feature areas. Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have 3+ years of SDET experience and with proficiency in C# and/or C++. A successful candidate for this position is a quality-oriented, eager to learn and highly motivated individual with effective test and interpersonal skills and has proven track of record of owning and shipping one or more software products; previous experience in digital media streaming technologies and digital media codec testing is a plus. A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
