Some areas of responsibility:   Adopt and implement a unified sustained engineering process for the Surface software (platform and solutions) Own the delivery of Service Packs, define servicing strategy, drive servicing readiness for new releases, publish GDR's, own and drive updates to Surface platform. Drive monthly dependency validation for the platform. Drive and Specify changes to product design to accommodate servicing needs. Work with the hardware team closely and provide support to any software related dependencies. Lead cross functional teams with developers, test, build, customer support, hardware and security to meet SLAs for SE deliverables. Track and manage SE data, team SharePoint site http://sharepoint/sites/SurfaceSustinaedEngineering/Pages/Default.aspx, status reports and worldwide communications including upper management. Provide analysis and recommendations in regards to infrastructure needs, impacts and risks for short/long term growth. Requirements: Deep knowledge of the software development cycle, ideally in a major development organization. Ability to coordinate and prioritize in a fast past environment and ability to work interact effectively with other groups. Exceptional communication, negotiation and cross group skills; must be able to drive shared goals across multiple groups. Ability to effectively resolve conflict (you'll be working with many smart and talented people with strong personalities), work well under pressure, deal with ambiguity (you're building something no one else has done before) and provide clear direction to the team are key assets (need to make some money at the end of the day).
