We develop the tools and libraries used by professional game developers to create titles for Xbox 360 and Windows. Our products are the Xbox 360 SDK and the DirectX SDK which we ship four times a year. This is a fast-paced group and with our partners we support both internal and external game studios with the best development tools in the industry. You will work with many teams to define software requirements, spec features, and develop solutions. We are always shipping, you will see the fruits of your labor soon and often. We have an opportunity for a Lead Program Manger to oversee a team of PMs working in several technology pillars. In addition, the right candidate will program manage one or more tech areas. Responsibilities include: Leading a team of three or more program managers Contributing to and executing on a multi-year strategy Delivering features on schedule Establishing strong cross-group relationships with multiple teams within Xbox, Windows, Visual Studio and Microsoft Research Desired skills and experience include: A strong technical background in software with BSCS or equivalent experience A minimum o f 5 years experience designing and shipping operating system components or development tools Excellent communications and problem solving skills Strong end-to-end scenario planning skills Experience managing people and technical relationships You must demonstrate strong strategic thinking and have a proven track record of making customers and partners successful. You must also be highly motivated, self-sufficient, and have strong passion around gaming and software developers. You must be a collaborative team player capable of working effectively cross-discipline within the team. Ideal candidates will have prior experience shipping a consumer or commercial products. Prior background in console software, development tools, and kernel development would be an asset.
