My Client is inventing a new generation of innovative social-media applications. We're looking for a few very talented folks to join our team! We're venture funded by a top VC firm, and run by founders of Inktomi and Endeca. We have an opening for an exceptional UNIX Internet programmer, to design, construct and optimize specialized crawlers, algorithms, and data stores for a pioneering "big data" consumer application. Qualifications * Exceptional C++/Perl/Python UNIX programmer. * Self-motivated builder, to create products used by millions of users. * Strong CS background, in Computer Science or equivalent. * Experience building web clients and spiders and web scrapers. * Master of web technologies (HTTP/TCP/HTML/XML). * Master of regexes, perl/python, and state-of-the-art UNIX tools/tricks. * Skills with open-source MySQL or PostgreSQL databases a huge plus. * Search and information retrieval algorithms experience a plus * Systems performance analysis and optimization talents a plus. * Must have work visa, and be able to work on-site.
