POSITION:                                         Materials Scientist
 
REPORTING :                                    Reports to the President
 
OVERVIEW:
This position involves a prominent role in R&D, bench formulation and evaluation.
This incumbent will also provide analysis into product failure and assist with technical service issues. 
An important role will be to share in the will be to share in the management of research operations and
assume responsibility within departmental succession plan.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 
Primary:
Design/development of new products, including bench work
Share in the management of Research Group
Root Causes analysis and project-based technical service to customers
Project management and a reporting role in Research Priority Committee
 Secondary:
Consult with customers and representatives on product and application recommendations
Assist with quality control
Assist with technical Service in the field
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
BS or MS in Materials Science and/or Chemistry
Minimum 3 experience in a development setting
Broad experience with inorganic chemistry

Strong knowledge inorganic and organic chemistry
Working understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment
Ability to design material enhancements to cements and coatings
Orientation toward goals and results
Strong mathematical and verbal communications skills

Leadership ability as it relates to service, teamwork and project management
Ability to organize, plan and implement process improvements
