General Description
Responsible for the managing the sales and business development effort with all assigned National Accounts. Emphasis placed on maximizing sales, distribution of existing products, new products and promotional support on all company brands. Duties include managing the administrative functions and any assigned representative/broker agencies.

Minimum Requirements:
Education Completed: College Degree +5 years National Accounts Experience
Background and Expertise: Interpersonal & Negotiation Skills
Applicable Experience: Consumer Products Sales/Marketing
Technical Requirements: 10+ years Sales/Marketing preferred

Summary of Responsibilities:

*Responsible for specific National customers as the principal customer contact charged with using company resources to maximize sales and distribution, which may involve special broker/representatives, direct marketing team interaction and other elements of the sales organization.

*Oversees the development of sales/promotion plans and programs on a quarterly & annual basis to maximize the sales and profit growth and the expansion of the company's brands.

*Leads negotiations with assigned national accounts as it pertains to terms of business, vendor agreements, selling prices, promotional support, and any special initiatives/projects originating from WD-40 or the national account.

*Utilizes syndicated data, Retail Link information, and sales/promotional history to maximize sales at assigned customers. Establishes and recommends best course of action based on sound business management.

*Recommends pricing and promotional tactics to ensure maximum sales, distribution and profit potential across all brands and customers - applicable to existing and new products/brands.

*Consults with all other functions as necessary to gain information and insight, as well as achieve results that are aligned with corporate and functional objectives.

*Communicates regularly with assigned broker(s) to reinforce company values and direction. Establishes /monitors goals and objectives consistent with meeting company sales and distribution goals.

*Establishes and maintains top-level contact with management of assigned customers.

*Assures that market intelligence is received and analyzed so that market opportunities can be maximized and competitive activity minimized.

*Key contributor in the development of and execution of special pack and special retailer promotional opportunities within the Mass and Club (MC) trade channels.

*Serve as Sales Project Leader in the collaboration with Marketing and Operations to identify and develop special pack opportunities in the MC trade channels.

*Identifies MC sales team needs for special research and product knowledge. Communicates needs and benefits of the research and product knowledge to Marketing and Product Innovation/R&D in order to align resources to support requirements.

*Helps teach and mentor the MC sales team to utilize available special research and product knowledge to increase the teams' understanding of product attributes and differentiation with competitive products

*Develops sales presentations for MC that leverage the information gained from the consumer and category insights, special research and product knowledge.

*Manages the administrative function of all assigned accounts, including deduction management, cost control and general administration.
