Job Title: Business Development Manager Job Category: Business Development Product: (Not Product Specific) Date Posted: 08/14/2008 Job Code: 237554 Location: CA - Palo Alto Travel Required: The PMX team's Danger business unit is seeking a talented individual to join the Premium Services content team to focus on the account management of our 3rd party content providers and lead efforts to maximize financial returns for participants in Danger's content ecosystem. The Premium Services team oversees the Danger download catalog, a growing and exciting component of Danger's technology platform. The catalog offers users the ability to download games, applications, ringtones & other products for an incremental fee. With interfaces to the billing systems of Danger's wireless operator partners, the catalog enables an additional line of business for operators and provides a distribution vehicle for third-party developers. The Premium Services Business Development Manger will manage many operational and strategic tasks in this important and dynamic part of Danger's business. Major areas of focus include: Leading the day-to-day management of content provider relationships Vetting new partnership opportunities and, when appropriate, bringing new partners online Coordinating partner outreach at tradeshows and conferences Coordinating with 3rd party content providers to create marketing campaigns (focusing on in-catalogue promotions but extending to online, print, etc.) Implementing and tracking metrics to assess partner performance Managing contracts with Danger's legal department Planning content strategy for new OS releases Develop product or category strategy for priority categories that includes market assessment, technology assessment, product and partner requirements, pricing and business model Drive initiatives as principal business owner and key interface to internal and external constituents Conduct and facilitate partner evaluation and selection, including the creation of RFPs, development of evaluation criteria, and coordination of due diligence, user trials or additional market research Providing regular status updates to both internal stakeholders and external partners Coordinating launch schedules with internal and external teams Leading competitive research efforts needed to guide the content selection for Danger's various geographic territories Requirements: BA/BS & 5-7 years of relevant exp. (mobile, online and/or gaming industry experience strongly preferred) Experience managing multiple external relationships Strong organizational/prioritization skills Ability to make decisions and recommendations based on key business metrics, market data and overall business strategy Superior attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience making presentations to external partners and internal executive team Experience with marketing strategy and execution Adept at quickly picking up new processes and understand the basics of new technologies Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams (engineering, QA, finance, biz dev and external partners) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work both independently (self-managing) and as part of a team Ability to conduct industry research & competitive analysis Willingness to wear multiple hats
