Click Here to Apply Online Our client is a consulting engineering and construction company located in the West Denver metro area. The client has an immediate need for a Design Manager. All candidates desiring to be considered must hold a Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, or Electrical) or a Master's in Architecture, be a Registered PE or Registered Architect, and have five or more years of experience in Design Lead roles in the construction business with specific experience in government contracting (DOD, DOE, Corps of Engineers, etc.) Candidates must be willing to travel occassionally, some international experience would be a plus. Job Duties Description : Interpret RFP requirements within technical discipline Support military and Federal government bids and proposals for engineering and design/ build projects worldwide Prepare RFQs for design and construction specialty services, and recommend the preferred service provider after reviewing bid responses Assist project manager in design planning, design management, material selections, design change management, and submittals review Lead design activities by subcontractor A/E firms, institute independent review Prepare conceptual designs - support subsequent design efforts, as needed Develop corrective actions and work around strategies Establish SOPs for engineering and design services related to position discipline Conceptualize engineering designs and lead the preparation of architectural engineering plans with A/E firms, as appropriate Interpret design documents in support of bids and construction Responsible for development of designs from initial requirements to final bid package, from construction through completion and verification of documentation. Ensure these designs meet customer requirements, are complete and technically correct, submitted on time and within budget. Review designs, calculations, specifications, cut sheets, lab data, samples, manufacturer data, and other submittals for materials and techniques Review maintenance and inspection program for facility infrastructure Job Requirements: Three plus years experience as design leader in multi-discipline facilities or infrastructure projects Must have knowledge of all aspects of the design and construction/modification of buildings and industrial facilities Five plus years field experience, design/ build experience a plus Knowledge in space planning, office layout, conceptual building renderings, roofing replacement, and AutoCAD is required Government and/or military experience required, international experience a plus Flexible and capable of working efficiently and collaborate effectively either independently or via remote communication Must be creative, energetic, and a team player
