Shift: Day/Evening Shift, 7 Days/Week


Clinical Pharmacy Specialist needed to provide Pharmaceutical care to achieve improved outcomes and quality of life for patients of all ages in our Emergency Department.

Pharmacy offers increased clinical involvement in a decentralized environment with traditional medication distributive activities.

Must possess skills to interpret medication orders and review them for safety and effectiveness.

Will make rounds to patient area to ensure the quality of patient care.

Must be able to communicate and interact with professional and non-professional staff.

Responsibilities include development and evaluation of protocols; participation on committees relevant to areas of service; providing formal education to students, residents and other healthcare providers; participate in research activities.

Must have current pharmacy licensure for the State of Virginia or eligible.

PharmD required with residency training in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine.

BCPS certification desired.

Good communication skills, math skills, and attention to detail.
