Explanation Statement
 
John Deere Agricultural Equipment in Thibodaux, Louisiana is seeking a Tool Designer to support Manufacturing Engineering Continuous Improvement implementation requests, specifically via fixture (weld, assembly, and lift) design. In this position, you will:

Implement solutions to address Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Delivery for new and improved weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, lift fixture carts, material handling racks, drill jigs and other custom devices as required.
Model tools in 3D and participate in cross-functional teams and in multi-functional design reviews.

 
Education         

Misc. degree or equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Experience

Proficient in a 3D Modeling software system, such as Pro-Engineer, Solid Works, Solid Edge, or Catia.
2 years experience working in a metal fabrication environment that incorporates manual MIG welding.

Desired Skills and Experience

Proficient with Pro-Engineer.
Formal training in design.
Experience designing fixtures (weld, assembly and lift) in 3D.
