Job Title Risk/PI Specialist Category Other Positions Available Site Cooperstown Status FT Shift Days Description Full time, days Responsibilities: Provides diversified support in the investigation of claims and suits filed against Bassett Healthcare and/or its providers and staff. Responsible for the timely response to claims, facilitating the investigation of each case at the request of management, the insurance carrier, or legal counsel. Provides analysis of data to identify trends. Answers risk calls from internal customers Prepares reports from the database for the Malpractice/Liability Quarterly Reserves meetings, Board of Trustees Performance Improvement Committee, and others as directed. Serves as a knowledgeable resource for risk issues and matters Reviews, investigates and analyzes Incident Reports for trends, safety and liability issues for the organization. Coordinates the Patient Representative Service Program (PRS) Some outside travel and off shift hours required. Minimum Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree with a background in a healthcare environment Certification in Healthcare Risk Management or medical-legal consulting or willingness to pursue is required Three to five years recent experience in healthcare Risk Management or similar field Experience with incident / event reporting processes and systems preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional report preparation Strong conflict resolution skills GRADE 53 MC For more information, contact Human Resources at 607-547-3120
