Minimum Education: None Jobcode: L:64449574 Email this job to yourself or to a friend Click Here to Apply Online Title: Planning & Market Analyst Req Number: chmc-00020942 Department: Planning / 11-162000 Job Grade: C-6 Start Time AM/PM: 8:00 a.m. End Time AM/PM: 4:30 p.m. Work Shift: 1st shift Hours Per Week: 40 Salary: 21.83 - 36.38 Location(s): Cincinnati OH To support the Planning function in expanding its capacity to provide business planning, strategic planning, and market/environment analytical support to a larger audience of clinical divisions and other functions within CCHMC. The individual in this position will be responsible for data collection, analysis, maintenance, and reporting of both internal CCHMC data and external market and environmentally focused data in addition to supporting overall planning activities. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and analyze financial, market, and demographic data for use by Planning & Business Development, Departments, Senior Leadership, etc. 2. Utilize CCHMC's internal data repositories and data from external sources to produce regular reports on CCHMC's volume, market share, competitive environment, and other factors as needed. These reports will include, among others, the Vital Statistics Report, Market Watch, analysis of OCHA and OHA data, Physician Referral reports, Physician Services reports, CCHMC Institutional Scorecard, and Market Share reports. 3. Maintain datasets and generate analysis and reports using external market, competitive, and demographic data collected or purchased by Planning, including maintenance of a large market and demographic data set. 4. Work proactively with business directors and other medical center managers to develop and produce standard dashboard reports using CCHMC data and externally produced data that meet organizational stakeholders' needs for timely internal and external data. 5. Work with Decision Support, business directors, and other users of data to develop methodologies for users to access data directly and create reports themselves. 6. Provide ad hoc analyses to support divisional, business unit, and other stakeholders' needs. 7. Produce financial analysis and forecasts to support business planning activities. 8. Support the creation of financial, market, and volume models to support multiple business case scenario analysis. 9. Support the Planning function in the development of a platform to collect and manage competitive intelligence including qualitative information. 10. Communicate key findings from data analysis through the development of written reports, maps, and other communication tools. 11. Respect patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information. 12. Understands, adheres to and models Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department/unit. 13. Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate analytical skills as well as accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to relate to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Must possess a high level of organizational and work flow efficiency skills and demonstrated sound judgment, decision making skills, and independent work initiative. Highly proficient in the use of personal computer based software applications (Word, Power Point, Excel) required. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and understanding of healthcare and medical terminology are highly desirable. EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Two years of related experience including planning, market, and/or financial scenario modeling required.
