Mathematics Education: Tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Job expectations include: Interest and expertise in Mathematics Education; teaching mathematics courses for future teachers and other audiences; assisting with further development of our secondary education mathematics programs; continued scholarly research; service to the Department, University, community, and profession.

Minimum requirements are a Doctorate in Mathematics Education with Master’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, or a Ph.D. in Mathematics with scholarly activity in Mathematics Education and an understanding of the secondary teaching experience; commitment to excellence in teaching; commitment to scholarly activity and professional growth.

Other specific Departmental qualifications are:
• Ability and interest in teaching mathematics to undergraduate students.
• Ability to teach using a variety of formats.
• Ability to supervise projects, and possibly research, with undergraduate students.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with students and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain a program of recognized scholarship.

The University of Michigan-Flint is a comprehensive regional campus of the University of Michigan located in the city of Flint, population approximately 115,000, in Genesee County, population approximately 436,000, with proximity to Ann Arbor, Lansing and Detroit. The city has a cultural center which includes music and art institutes, a science museum, a planetarium and a theater which hosts the city symphony and other events. There are several shopping areas and many restaurants and entertainment venues.

The University has an enrollment of approximately 7250 undergraduate and graduate students. The University opened as an undergraduate commuter school, but several graduate programs are now also offered, and the first residence hall opened this year.
