This position negotiates contracts, assists with acquiring new product lines, and communicates with Sales on a regular basis.  The Senior Product Manager manages budgets, gathers costs and determines pricing for assigned product lines to ensure profitability. Has profit and loss responsibility for product lines.   Defines product strategy and roadmap and determines priorities and future direction. Gathers and/or contracts for, analyzes and reports on market research so that they will be the expert with respect to the market and the competition. Develops new product or partnership proposals (PPAs) and market requirements documents (MRDs) and product requirements documents (PRDs), business plans, sales forecasts, revenue estimates, and product pricing that ensures profitability. Keeps abreast of industry developments, becomes an expert with respect to the competition and projects future trends in product delivery and services. Communicates with the sales force regularly and interacts with the executive team as directed with updates on product features and benefits, product financial updates, messaging, demos, trainings, answers Tier III customer questions and creates FAQs. Leads interactions among Publishing Project Management and Content Development, Research, Technology Marketing, Communications, and the Sales staff to ensure coordination of development and marketing activities for assigned product lines   Required Qualifications :  Bachelor's degree in education, assessment, marketing, or associated field 2-4 years experience in product management 2 years experience in price setting and costing 2 years experience in product identification and responsiveness, including ability in estimating competitor's strategies and costs so that products can be priced competitively and profitably, and ability in translating market needs into responsive and profitable products 3 years of budget responsibility, including the ability to track revenue dollars and provide projections on regular bases may be required 2 years experience in people management; including the ability to solve complex conceptual and implementation problems, negotiating strategies, supervisory and team-building skills, long-term planning capability, experience in managing professional staff, preferably in an educational assessment environment Must possess strong customer-relations skills and demonstrated ability to foster positive, long-term internal and external customer relationships and foster competitive advantages   Preferred Qualifications :   Advanced degree in education/educational assessment 5 years experience in education, educational assessment and/or product management   About CTB/McGraw-Hill: As
