The Lovett School is seeking an individual for the position of a Graduate Assistant beginning in July 2009. Graduate Assistants will assist the Head and Associate Athletic Trainers, as well as our 2nd year Graduate Assistant in coverage of the 65 competitive athletic teams in both the high school and middle school. Graduate Assistants will be responsible for prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of the student athletes alongside the full-time ATC’s. Graduate Assistants will be expected to serve as a liaison between the athlete, coach, parents and physician.

Lovett's Athletics program is an essential facet to the school philosophy, which seeks to develop the whole child--including physically. From movement education in the early childhood program through state championship varsity sports, students gain a broad exposure to the importance of physical activity.

Lovett's athletic facilities are among the best in the Southeast, and include a stadium, three gymnasiums, a natatorium, baseball and softball fields, 10 tennis courts, a 400-meter track, four practice fields, and a wellness center. Top-quality teachers, coaches, sports medicine department and strength and conditioning staff encourage our athletes to perform to their best of their abilities, both on the field and in the classroom. Personal traits--including commitment, discipline, team cooperation, individual leadership, sportsmanship, and consideration of others -- are emphasized and vital to the success of The Lovett Athletic Program.

Qualifications:
BS in Athletic Training, NATABOC certified or eligibility, current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Must also meet the admission requirements into the Georgia State University Master’s Program in Sports Medicine: 2.7 GPA, 800 GRE.
