Location: Newport News, VA Quality Engineer I
Position Summary:
Plans and coordinates technical activities affecting product quality and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or product.
Essential Functions:
?        Leads investigations of quality systems problems to determine root cause. Implements countermeasures to keep the problem from reoccurring. Collaborates with personnel (e.g., manufacturing, product engineerin g , receiving inspection) to resolve problems and coordinates/facilitates improvement activities.
?        Evaluates processes to improve efficiency.
?        Develops initiates and statistically analyzes inspection, testing and evaluation methods. Analyzes data collected to verify adequacy of product and process decision.
?        Designs, evaluates and facilitates re-engineering of quality processes and systems.
?        Formulates sampling procedures, designs forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data for re-engineered systems.
?        Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing and measurement equipment.
?        Coordinates and leads multiple projects and teams.
?        Writes reports, process map strategic project plans and develops timelines.
Special/Other Requirements:
?           BS Mechanical Engineering
?            Experience in a manufacturing environment is needed
?           Ability to analyze data (SPC); also ability to take a lead role on projects or tasks.
?           Experience with leadin g teams to solve problems is a plus
?           Ability to improve quality and yield.
