thePlatform, a subsidiary of Comcast, is hiring a Software Development Lead for our Professional Services team.
 thePlatform helps content providers, broadband media sites, and mobile businesses solve their unique media publishing requirements. Our proven media management and publishing technology services scale with our customers' operations and support their business model with an open, versatile approach to providing an ideal technical solution for their needs.
 Our Professional Services Team builds applications and services that integrate with our MPS products to provide custom publishing and distribution solutions for such high profile customers as Comcast, CBS, BBC, PBS, Verizon, and others.
The Development Lead will combine a strong development background and leadership experience to direct the development efforts for a variety of customers.   As a Development Lead, you will have an opportunity to work with the latest digital media and web technologies.

Responsibilities: 
§   Provide technical and process direction to small teams building customer solutions based on thePlatform’s Media Publishing System (MPS) services.
§   Provide guidance on best practices for developers working with our products and SDKs.
§   Collaborate closely with internal development teams to continually refine process and best practices.  
§   Assist Program Managers with customer communication as needed.
§   Work with Solution Architects on effective product design.
§   Work with Project Managers to manage resource availability.
§   Coordinate integration efforts across multiple teams.
§   Collaborate closely with Operations and Support Teams to deploy and maintain services for customers.
§   Collaborate closely with external development teams when necessary.
Requirements:
§   At least 7 years experience in the design and development of modern enterprise web applications and distributed systems.
§   Experience leading and coaching agile development teams.   Scrum experience preferred.
§   At least 3 years experience leading a development team through the entire product development lifecycle.
§   Solid background in Java, XML, Web Services, and relevant design patterns.
§   JavaScript, ActionScript, and Flex experience.
§   Strong intuition for elegant object-oriented design with Java.
§   Experience with database schema design and SQL.
§   Ability to deliver production-ready software in short iterations.
§   Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
§   Strong customer-facing communication skills.
§   A passion for design and a drive to get the details right.
§   A dedication to customer satisfaction.
§   BS Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
§   C#/.Net experience a plus.
