The Senior Product Applications Specialist is a world-class technical resource for the organization for complex issues with long-term business implications. *Supports game-changing technology and can anticipate, apply, adapt or develop solutions for the most complex customer problems. *Contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within the refinery and petrochemical industries. *Provides technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues. *Provides technical consultation, leadership, and guidance throughout the entire NPI/design process. *Authors technical papers and presents materials at local tradeshows and conferences to create market pull for GE Water & Process Technologies products. *Works local MCP and NPI projects to ensure business strategy and commitments are achieved. *Facilitates local training classes as coordinated by training function. *Gives clear, understandable instructions and coaching to others in the group or team and encourages people to comfortably express their ideas *Identifies business development and sales opportunities for projects and helps define and minimize risks to the business. Signature: ~CB~ Qualifications *Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other technical discipline. *Minimum 10 years of experience in water and/or process treatment chemistry. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: *Ability to travel 30-45%. *Willing to submit to background investigation (Motor vehicle record, criminal, education and prior employment), physical evaluation and drug screen. Desired *Should have extensive refinery or petrochemical experience and be fluent in desalter operations and chemical applications. *Possess complete fundamental understanding of product and process chemistries/engineering. *Strong communication / interpersonal skills. *Masters Degree or PhD in engineering or technical discipline. *Ability to work or lead with remote cross- functional and cross-cultural teams. *Demonstrates listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in 1-on-1 and small group settings. Learns team/ group processes. *Multilingual is preferred. *Experience publishing industry papers and presenting them at trade shows and conferences. *Strong oral and written communication skills.
