Enloe Medical Center, a level II trauma center, located in the beautiful northern California town of Chico, is looking for a Registered Nurse - First Assistant to join our outstanding team of professionals. We are currently undergoing a large hospital expansion that will  double the existing surgical suites that will include dedicated heart, neurological and orthopedic operating rooms.
        POSITION SUMMARY:
        As Director of Behavioral Health, he/she reports directly to the Vice President of Nursing Services and is responsible for the overall management of Behavioral Health. He/she collaborates with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health. He/she has overall responsibility for the operational, quality, human resource, and financial management of Behavioral Health.   He/she coordinates the services through leadership and collaboration through high visibility and interaction within the department and with colleagues throughout the Medical Center.   The Director consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.   These activities further the mission of Enloe Medical Center to provide high quality, cost effective care for the communities we serve.
 
The Director:
§           Develops and implements strategies for the Behavioral Health program, including, but not limited to:
§           Clinical competence of staff/ongoing education
§           Continuous quality improvement
§           Evidence based decision making
§           Accountability for building volume and increasing net revenue.
§           Works with physician leadership and operational managers, achieves a common vision and culture among staff.
§           Mentors staff in developing a culture that prioritizes patient satisfaction and cultivates improvement strategies.
§           Fosters a work environment that emphasizes the highest standards of quality, innovation, empowerment, teamwork, and respect for individuals.
§           Provides strategic oversight to improve patient outcomes. Presents relevant data to influence change in protocol, productivity, and costs. Integrates appropriate clinical pathways and standards of care to achieve excellence in quality outcomes and program growth.
§           Regularly communicates with program physicians and stakeholders.   Enlists physician buy-in regarding the application of consistent protocols and performance standards.   Partners with Medical Directors to take action when performance issues are identified.
§           Builds strong community and employee awareness regarding the Behavioral Health program.
§           Consistently evaluates and builds the service line infrastructure to accommodate the changing demands of the program. Establishes a feedback loop so that opportunities are seized, issues are resolved, and consistency is ensured.
§           Regularly evaluates patient and physician satisfaction. Implements initiatives to improve their experience.
§           Manages budgets for various components of the Behavioral Health program.   Coordinates research and manages the related budget.
§           Leads the Behavioral health data management process to ensure data integrity, compliance, and regular sharing of data with stakeholders.
§           Partners with the Director of Physician Recruiting to implement physician recruitment strategies to build program support.
§           Works with Nursing VP and Managers to aggressively explore opportunities to reduce costs: streamline processes; monitor performance to benchmarks; negotiate optimized purchasing arrangements, and ensure effective inventory management.
