The Senior Accountant demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise. * Define and implement accounting systems and procedures for GE, related affiliates, and associated companies that provide adequate information for control of the business and meet all standards for financial reporting, tax reporting, and corporate regulations * Review new and proposed contracts to define appropriate accounting routines and procedures * Provide advice and counsel in areas of finance and accounting * Design, review, and modify accounting reports to ensure accurate communication of financial results to management / stakeholders * Recommend changes in accounting / reporting requirements to ensure compliance * Analyze the financial position of assigned entities and recommend adjustments in valuation when necessary * Ensure accurate statement of financial results * Provide effective leadership as assigned * Perform account reconciliations Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance * At least 5 additional years of experience in a financial position Desired * Certified Public Accountant or Master's of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred * Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * PC proficiency General * Why join one great company when you can join many?
