Click Here to Apply Online Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, Transportation Function: Services Location: Commerce, CA Job #: 861627 Posted: Dec 05, 2008 Responsibilities The Technical Director will provide leadership and direction to railroad hourly employees, providing clear direction on the job they are to perform, including all appropriate documentation. * Interpret and insure adherence to GE work scopes * Encourage and maintain safe work environment * Maintain clean and orderly work areas * Responsible for FRA compliance, OSHA work practices, and specific local customer safety policies * Provide feedback to other GE teams for updates to work scopes and shop Qualifications * Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering OR HS diploma/GED plus at least of 5+ years experience in industrial operations or at least 5+ years military leadership experience * Willingness to work various shifts various days * Ability to work in shop environment (for example: navigate up and down ramps and stairs, non air conditioned environment) * Experience in Microsoft office applications Desired * Customer service or contract experience * Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (GE employees only) * Locomotive experience with Dash 8, Dash 9 and AC models General GE -Transportation is a global technology leader and supplier to the railroad, marine, drilling, wind and mining industries.
