Our Client is currently seeking a Principal Fuel Rod Design Engineer in North Carolina with 10+ years of relevant experience. A successful candidate will possess and/or have knowledge of the following: *A Bachelors degree in Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering. A Masters or PhD is preferred. *Typically ten or more years of related engineering experience is required. Specific experience in PWR and/or BWR Fuel Rod design is highly desirable. *May be required to travel domestically and internationally Required Skills: *Excellent technical leadership skills to act as project manager, principal investigator or lead a group of engineers investigating problems, developing solutions, and preparing related recommendations and reports. *Possess in-depth knowledge of fuel rod design and analysis engineering techniques including use of complex fuel rod analysis codes and industry analysis codes. *Ability to work with experimental data for model development. *Conduct economic studies and prepare or lead the preparation of specifications, calculation notes, proposals for contracts, licensing and safety documents, and obtain required approvals. *Represent group in meetings and conferences; interact with customers to resolve significant technical issues and develop related action plans. *Professional Engineer License is desirable for selected positions.
