Position Description: Ensure sustained integrity and stability of a large-scale Delta V batch system in a 7x24 operating environment. Provide leadership and expert Delta V technical support to on-shift Brewery engineering Technicians. Provide ongoing coaching and training to Brewery Operations and Technicians to improve plant proficiency in the use of the Brewery Delta V solution. Through an intimate working knowledge of brewing operations work with the brewing team to identify and implement continuous improvement and optimization opportunities that can be leveraged across the Shenandoah brewery to maximize current and future manufacturing systems return on investment. Maintain Delta V control system software and hardware at appropriate revision levels and implement upgrades as needed. Maintain site specific controls and manufacturing systems documentation. Plan and execute plant disaster recovery /business continuity plans from manufacturing system outages. Facilitate productive working relationships with local outsourcing partners and key vendors. Monitor plant specific systems metrics (Outsourcing, Service Levels and System Performance) Maintain a process simulation environment. Acts as Shenandoah plant systems expert on the development of process simulations within the Delta V environment. Provide input on the direction for future control system and integration opportunities through active participation in enterprise-driven capital projects impacting the Shenandoah plant. Actively participate with the Multi-plant Manufacturing Systems Team to support the installation of new large system projects impacting the Shenandoah plant. Ensure adherence to corporate manufacturing systems standards. Lead change management introduced by systems changes (People & Processes) Skills Requirements: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering-related discipline. Team player with good interpersonal communications skills. Teacher & coach. 10 years hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing controls environment. Minimum 3 years Delta V DCS/Batch experience preferred. Knowledge of Foundations Fieldbus, AsiBus, DeviceNet, Profibus. Ability to work in a self-directed work environment with little or no supervision. Knowledge of world class operating principles. Knowledge of Brewing and Utilities equipment and processes preferred. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, electrical or process engineering discipline preferred. Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing and instrument/control system engineering. Minimum of 3 years hands-on Delta V hatch control experience. Strong process control skills required to drive continuous improvement opportunities resulting in manufacturing systems and process optimization.
