Responsibilities include supervising and training of underwriting personnel, assisting in product training, market research and conducting audits of underwriters to ensure that proper underwriting procedures are followed.
Requirements include a minimum of eight years of underwriting experience (three or more years of supervisory experience is desirable) and professional designations such as CPCU, ARe, AIM, AU or equivalent knowledge.
Additional requirements include superior working knowledge of the industry, ability to communicate effectively, leadership skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive are necessary.
