We do that by customizing the user experience of Windows Mobile using technologies such as Silverlight and Open Graphics Language, and by ensuring that mobile phone services offered by operators are world class. Windows Mobile is one of the fastest growing businesses in Microsoft and the key to winning in this space is for us to partner closely with the biggest mobile phone operators and the makers of the devices (OEMSs) to ship a world class portfolio of devices into the market. This is a great time for you to join the growing mobile revolution as we are currently building a new team and looking for an experienced senior developer to help design and build user experiences for the biggest North American mobile phone operators! You are a level 63 or level 64 programmer who believes that your code does the talking. You have seven or more years of programming experience and are strong with C++. You preferably have some mobile phone experience, and preferably experience with state of the art graphics programming such as Silverlight, DirectDraw, or Open Graphics Language. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and shipping "magical" user experiences on Windows Mobile phones over the next few years, and will also have an opportunity to work directly with our customers to build these signature Microsoft/Operator branded Windows Mobile experiences. We are looking for a self-motivated and independent developer who is a great team player and has an excellent track record for feature development and cross-group collaboration. Experience working with customers is helpful and this role is also expected to work closely with Product Planning, User Experience, and Test teams to work collaboratively during product cycles. The key responsibilities of this role include commercialization of Windows Mobile devices committed on the partner roadmap, work with your own program manager and test peers, as well as some customer-facing responsibilities. It is key that you have ability to work extremely closely with your program managers to help Windows Mobile devices sail smoothly through operator network testing, and that you have both breadth and depth scope in software development skills. Candidates should have a BA/BS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline and at least 7 years experience in the software development role. Experience with Windows CE/Windows Mobile, advance user interface design, Silverlight and embedded systems are big pluses and other preferred skills include: Strong software design intuition and solid implementation skills Drive for results, initiative and desire to impact the mobile industry through increasing the influence of Windows Mobile platform Excellent communication, problem solving and strong cross group collaboration skills Strong customer awareness and empathy, and desire to work closely with customers Proven experience delivering key features from beginning to end of product life cycles
