Location: Clearwater, FL USA
Full-Time
   Creative collaboration and coffee.
Here at Spatial Networks we firmly believe in the power of company culture and its direct affect on business success. And we are in the business of innovation .   Our ongoing cultural mission is to provide an optimum environment for fostering ideas into effective technology solutions for the global marketplace.   This requires combining talented people, effective methodologies, a focused mission/vision and coffee…lots of coffee.   A creative, collaborative culture means we agree and disagree, compliment and critique, teach and learn but most importantly, do .
Spatial Networks provides an energetic, fast-paced and fun environment that allows each and every team member the opportunity for great career and financial success. In addition to all the coffee you could possibly consume in a day, Spatial Networks also offers an outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k and more.

Spatial Networks, Inc. ( http://www.spatialnetworks.com ) is currently hiring intelligent, creative software engineers with Ruby on Rails experience to develop the next generation of our web application software products and platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity to come work in a fun and relaxed environment with a group of equally smart and driven people where you will have the opportunity to make a difference and contribute to the development of some cutting edge software systems.
If you are the right person for the job, you will...
Thrive on and seek out challenging tasks
Really hate wearing ties
Like learning new things
Have a few years of Ruby on Rails development experience, and think it’s pretty sweet, including all the parts about writing unit/functional/integration/etc. tests for your code (and at least grudgingly, in private, admit that you think that’s pretty sweet too).
Know your way around a relational database and speak enough SQL to be able to construct relatively complex queries and optimize and debug them where necessary (bonus points for PostgreSQL)
Have a good bit of Javascript knowledge and experience (even if you really don’t like it), including:
Asynchronous communication and callbacks (you can call it AJAX if you want)
JSON
Know at least enough CSS to be dangerous, but more importantly, when and how to use it properly in a larger scale application
And you’ll get bonus points for...
Knowing what HAML or SASS are, especially if you’ve used them in a Rails project before
Have a keen eye and knack for web application interface design and implementation, including knowing your way around Photoshop or similar tools enough to crank out a few placeholder buttons or other graphical assets that look half decent in a pinch
Being familiar with RSpec, test/spec, shoulda, or similar testing frameworks
Please send your résumé, along with your answer to the following question (I’m serious):
Who do you think would win in a one-on-one fight, a 17th century Caribbean pirate, or a ninja (from any era) and why?
