McGraw-Hill Education is looking for a Director of Strategy and Analytics to work collaboratively with business unit executives, corporate Global Strategy and MHE Strategy & Business development team members to develop and implement market-informed strategies that drive market intelligence, revenue growth and/ or margin improvement. Essential Accountability -Take the lead on structuring and developing actionable, market-informed, customer-centric strategies for driving business performance and which can be presented at MOR's, Board of Directors meetings and other venues - Partner with business units across McGraw-Hill Education to provide analytic leadership and support for key management initiatives Support VP, Strategy & Business -Work with business unit teams to stay apprised of market trends and emerging opportunity spaces that cut across business unit boundaries - Strategy & Business Development team lead on managing and resolving requests from Corporate (Finance, Global Strategy, Investor Relations, etc.) for the annual Factbook, business development opportunities, investor Q&A's for the annual meetings, etc. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Describe the knowledge and skills needed for competent performance of the position. Specify why the knowledge or experience is required by referring to how it is used in performing the essential accountabilities. A? Bachelor's degree in a science / technical discipline preferred (e.g., hard sciences, engineering, computer science) A? MBA from a top-five business school preferred with a concentration in finance, operations or strategy A? 10-15 years total work experience with at least five years experience in top-tier management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, Booz, BCG) and / or Fortune 500 corporate strategy Demonstrated history of outstanding academic and professional achievement A? 5+ year track record with business performance analytics including activity-based costing, customer and channel profitability, program benefits estimation and tracking A? Evidence of work experience with data-driven analytics and culling relevant insights A? Creative thinker experienced with new business models and product development A? Knowledge of customer and competitor research gathering from primary and secondary sources A? Excellent communication and presentation skills - writing, verbal A? Ability to analyze complex problems and distill insights into frameworks that can be readily understood by senior executives (e.g., CEO Council, McGraw-Hill Board of Directors) A? Ability to interact with staff across levels, including customers and internal / external C-level executives and business unit managers A? Excellent MS office skills - powerpoint, excel, word, access, SAS or other analytical tool sets A? Strong project management skills with experience juggling multiple projects, priorities and relationships A? Experience managing matrixed, cross-functional teams in the absence of direct reporting relationships A? Comfortable working independently but knowing how and when to be a team player A? Analytical experience in one or more sectors of the education industry is strongly preferred A? Some travel (<20% of the time) may be required
