Click Here to Apply Online This intermediate level position provides support to Product Managers who possess profit and loss responsibilities for their state(s). As a fully competent individual contributor, the senior level position requires minimal oversight for their assigned duties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Product/State Performance -Produces and interprets standard reports for division use. -Monitors business performance in states including but not limited to, prospect growth, conversion ratios, earned premium growth, underwriting profitability, retention, etc. -Analyzes past trends that can be predictive of future business performance -Uses querying tools and other research methods to gather data -Creates reports that track state results and highlight areas of opportunity -Researches competitor information and analyzes the impact on our business -Researches changes in the regulatory environment of the state(s) -Formulates conclusions from analyses and independently makes recommendations. -Recommends effective solutions to problems. -Possesses the ability to independently perform ad hoc analyses. Rate Revision Analysis -Participates in rate revision meetings -Analyzes compliance with state insurance regulations -Completes factor analysis and reviews recommendation with Product Manager -Monitors rate revision results post elevation (including but not limited to competitive and uncompetitive segments, comparing losses with current pricing) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: -Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics or equivalent. -At least five years business experience. -At least one year of solid performance at Product Analyst I level. -Generally will possess at least two years of property casualty insurance experience and/or at least two years of related professional experience. -Solid grasp and knowledge of mathematics, statistics, probability and principles of finance to apply to property casualty business problems for area of responsibility. -Demonstrated problem solving skills. -Possesses a solid understanding of our business, systems and processes. -Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently. -Solid knowledge of mainframe reporting packages and relevant knowledge of company systems. -Proficiency in use of MBI, Crystal, or other reporting tools. -Intermediate SAS and SQL programming skills preferred - may include the ability to create basic programs. -Intermediate skills in Excel including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets. Knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing. -Intermediate MS office skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
