Power and Associates, Platts, McGraw-Hill Construction, Aviation Week, and Broadcasting.   McGraw-Hill Education addresses every aspect of the education market from PreK-12 through professional learning.  Although we recognize the important role of traditional learning materials, today our business is rapidly moving toward digital solutions by adapting McGraw-Hill's quality content to the latest technologies.  Our technical innovations are changing the way people learn, with e-books, online tutoring, customized course Web sites, and interactive simulation subscription services.   The Higher Education, Professional, and International Group, a division of McGraw-Hill Education, is a leading technological innovator, as well as provider of traditional learning materials, to the higher education market.  Our professional publishing operations provide essential information and expert guidance in business, education, consumer, medical, scientific, and technical fields.   Our Science, Engineering and Math division is looking for a Digital Promotions Intern to work in our Dubuque, IA office.   The Digital Promotions Intern  will be responsible for working with the Senior Digital Promotions Manager to concept, create, and maintain web, Flash, video, and other electronic promotions for McGraw-Hill Higher Education. This position will require a one-year commitment by the candidate, but may be extended based on performance and availability.   Timeframe of position:  Starting January/February, 2009 until December 2009 (longer based upon review) Flexible Hours - 30 hours per week Required Skills: Proficiency with web design applications Strong PC skills, and understanding of HTML and the Internet Basic understanding of Photoshop, or other graphic design applications Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology and software applications Ability to take direction on a project; work independently; creatively problem-solve; and turn projects around quickly Must provide samples of completed or current web-based marketing projects Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with Adobe Flash to create illustrations and animation Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs Experience with PC video/audio editing, and video/audio editing software (ex. Camtasia) Experience using Microsoft Office software a plus Bachelor's Degree - junior/senior status; or MBA student - Media/Digital/Communications/Marketing/Advertising majors   McGraw-Hill Education: Where the World Learns to Succeed   The McGraw-Hill Companies is an equal opportunity employer
