The position will afford the selected Packaging Development Engineer the opportunity to work clesely with some of the most innovative packaging design specifications in the consumer products industry. Under limited supervision, this position is accoutable for designing and issuing specifications, implementing package systems for new and existing products through reviewing, and proposing alternatives, testing packages, and assisting in the implementation.

Reviewing, recommended, testing and assisting in the implementation of various proposals for package design. This is done through obtaining and communicating necessary ifnormation with Plant Engineering, Marketing. Project Development, processing, etc., generating information and contacting various suppliers for estimates, suggestions, or information, test package systems in laboratory, pilot plan, and production facilities.

Under limited supervison, manages assigned projects through planning, organizing, coordinating projects assigned to them, to assure required deadlines are met.

Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the developments and trends in packaging for possible application with the Company's present and future products. This is done through reviewing trade journals, participating in professional societies, attending trade shows, and seminars, and consulting suppliers and visiting their facilities. Work with buyers and other team members to implement and apply to the Company's quality processes.

Maintain packaging specifications. Provide packaging bill of materials to plants. Provide finished goods specifications for entering into SAP. Update PCM with necessary packaging information.

Mechanical or Packaging Engineering Degree or 10 years of equivalent experience.
