Then come and work for Entertainment and Devices, Advertising Business Group., We are looking for a proven creative and strategic thinker that will contribute to the Microsoft Games groups advertising & sponsorship revenue, as well as identifying and cultivating the growing advertising opportunities within Entertainment & Devices. Primary responsibility for the Business Development Manager position is working with the MSN Sales Account Executives and Account Managers for a domestic sales region and specific verticals, to bring the latest in Xbox Live and Windows gaming opportunities to market. This requires building a tight, close working relationship with the MSN Sales organization. Ideally, this person will be able to fluidly move from working with the ABG's Ad Planning groups in building 'revenue infrastructure' (planning ad products & creating sponsorship packages) to 'revenue generation' (pitching and closing deals & managing large and small customer relationships). The latter involves conceiving innovative revenue-generating ad/sponsorship gaming deals with the Account Executive, and then managing and renewing the business. Candidates MUST have experience working with the online media industry including media plans and media booking tools. Candidates should also have experience working across industries and interfacing effectively with internal and external resources and have a solid background in understanding & communicating entertainment, advertising and sponsorship. This position will be familiar with Internet market trends, a variety of web business models, and have insight into how to leverage games and technology as marketing platforms for paying advertisers. The candidate should be aggressive and results oriented, with a strategic focus, a high degree of organization, and the ability to collaborate balancing that drive. The successful candidate for this very challenging position will have 4-5 years experience media sales and/or business development within the digital advertising field. A background may also include an entrepreneurial effort, industry sales and consulting experience with concentration on building partnerships and strategic business relationships or advertising agency experience. Candidate must have a demonstrated proficiency in partner acquisition & management, presentations, calling on senior management, negotiation and communications skills. Internet experience preferred and game or entertainment industry experience/passion valued. Candidate should have the same exuberant sense of enthusiasm, fun, and imagination/innovation associated with a group committed to developing the best casual games in the world. This position will report to the Central Region Manager in Chicago and will be based in the downtown Chicago office. The position requires a medium level of travel.
