Location: Covington, LA   Job Description:

Embedded Software/Firmware Designer.


 
Job Responsibilities:   Responsible for writing code for microcontrollers in a low current (battery operated) event driven environment.   Applicant will be required to be familiar with general embedded microcontroller programming techniques and writing interrupt handlers and interrupt oriented applications.   Applicant must be able to troubleshoot microcontroller code and be able to understand the microcontroller?s interface to other digital devices.   Applicant may be required to write Microsoft Windows applications to interface to microcontroller devices.

 
Education:


 
Minimum BS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, or BS Computer Science.

 
Essential skills and aptitudes:


 

Five years experience in programming microcontrollers in embedded environments.
Experience programming microcontrollers in assembly language.
Experience programming microcontrollers in C, C++.
Experience writing interrupt driven / event driven microcontroller code.
Working knowledge of TTL and CMOS logic circuits and logic gates.
Experience troubleshooting CMOS logic circuits.
Ability to use common test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters to debug embedded digital systems.
Experience in leading formal code reviews

 
Desirable skills and aptitudes:


 

Digital design experience.
Windows C and/or C++ programming experience.
Unix/Linux C and/or C++ programming experience.
Embedded OS / Embedded Linux experience.
Exposure to RF circuits and RF test equipment.
Familiarity with TI MSP430 series processors.
Familiarity with Microchip PIC processors.
DSP experience.
