This includes administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, managing and analyzing risk management data, managing claims against the organization, interfacing with defense legal counsel, oversight of risk financing and insurance program, conducting risk management educational programs, and complying with risk management related standards by the Joint Commission and the State Department of Health, all with the objective of maintaining patient safety, enhancing quality care, and controlling and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility. The Director of Risk Management has broad responsibility to protect the hospital’s assets and is responsible for coordinating loss control efforts and advising management and administration of all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed to comply with guidelines and standards of JCAHO, AHCA, other regulatory agencies and the UHS T.E.R.M. Program. The Director of Risk Management reports to the CEO and is responsible for the management and supervision of the Risk Management Department
