Click Here to Apply Online ETL Engineer The primary responsibility of this role is to bring together very large, disparate data sets (multi-terrabyte) into a common data warehouse and architecture, ultimately providing the necessary data foundation for our custom business intelligence solutions. This role is responsible for data quality, process improvement and performance enhancements. As a key member of the rapidly expanding team of data warehouse experts, this role will be called up to participate heavily in the design and implementation of the next generation architecture, tools and services. The Business Intelligence (BI) ETL developer is able to design, document, develop, test install and support complex data extract, transformation and load (ETL) programs. This candidate will be responsible for designing, coding and testing changes to the data warehouse environment. This BI ETL developer will work within a team to maintain and enhance systems. This candidate will work in conjunction with other IT/development and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security and integration requirements from the database perspective, and translate these requirements into functional, scalable and reusable components for the development framework. The BI ETL developer has the ability to apply advanced skills and concepts to oversee large, complex ETL development projects, design and code ETL work using routine and/or advanced technology, be able to create optimization programs to resolve problems, design and build prototype applications. As well as designing transactional or reporting systems that are optimized, fault tolerant, highly available, and scalable The BI ETL developer will assist in analyzing users' needs, and design, construct, test, and maintain the development of business intelligence or data warehousing solutions. The BI ETL developer must possess strong programming skills, will be expected to be a logical and disciplined thinker, and have a demonstrated concern with developing algorithms and analyzing and solving programming problems as related to data warehousing, and the development. Responsibilities: -Design, develop, test and document ETL processes -Add new functionality, with direct business user interaction -Support and maintain current application -Perform data analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity -Actively seek opportunities to enhance usability and effectiveness of the ETL process -Provide technical and data support to user community -Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced development environment. -Background in ETL development -Advanced SQL skills -Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment, with professionalism. -Excellent relationship building and client partnering skills. -Strong written and verbal communication -Experience in data modeling -Collaborate with DBA's to improve performance, scalability, and operational efficiency of database systems. -Assist in investigating new technologies Qualifications: -5+ years working as a senior database engineer or ETL engineer -SQL Server experience. -Solid understanding of Data Warehousing best practices. -Knowledge of database modeling and design in a data warehousing context. -Ability to manage complex data modeling and the ability to develop strategies to resolve complex data architecture and modeling issues preferred but not required. Experience and/or Education: -Experience with full data warehouse systems lifecycle covering requirements, design, development, test, and implementation. -Problem solving and meta-data skills, analyze query plans, indexes, and locking behavior. -Experienced SQL Server developer with a track record developing and rolling to production large scale databases. -Experience with SQL Replication and/or ETL processes. -Effective documentation skills, especially as applied to physical DB implementations, logical DB database designs, or DB operations guides. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Collaborative development style that includes technical and non-technical team members. -Bachelor of Science or Computer Science degree, or equivalent work experience -5 to 7 years of related on-the-job experience. -Large infrastructure development experience a plus. -Web Media data experience a plus -SQL Server database architecture experience a plus -OLAP understanding a plus. -DTS/SSIS understanding a plus.
