This position is responsible for advising and counseling all assigned students on curriculum requirements, vocational information, scholarship and /or academic achievement problems.

Skills:
Knowledge of guidance and counseling, typically acquired through the completion of a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling or field related to the academic area of assignment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. One year of experience in a counseling-related environment, is necessary. Written and interpersonal communication skills, in order to effectively interact with students, are necessary. Personal computer knowledge is necessary. Professional counseling licensure is desirable. Teaching experience is desirable. Ability to perform physically active work of a light nature including occasional lifting requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to transport materials and equipment may be necessary depending on area of assignment. Previous experience providing knowledge of academic areas of assignment may be required.
