Job Description: Business Intelligence Analyst
We are seeking individuals with the following skills/ experiences to join our team:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Participate in strategic assessments for clients identifying current business issues and contributing to defining high impact business intelligence solutions (measures and dimensions) with a focus on the quantitative method, modeling and analytical approach.
* Conduct interviews and economic analysis with project stakeholders to determine business opportunities and requirements.
* Lead functional requirements gathering and business scoping activities ensuring solutions support business processes.
* Analyze data sets to identify patterns and insights that can be turned into actionable business plans to impact measure performance
* Work in collaboration with information asset management practice teams and technical teams to translate business requirements into an actionable implementation approach and plan.
* Prepare and analyze reports based on online/website analytics

Preferred skills and experience:
* Analytics - Hands on experience performing ad-hoc queries and designing data models (interpretive and predicative) and using analytics to improve an aspect of the clients operations. Experience with data-centric statistical techniques and tools.
* Business Requirements Documentation - Experience translating business needs into functional/technical specification documents for UI, Cube, and ETL development to support reporting and dashboards.
* Online Analytics - Hands on experience diagnosing site or online campaign performance and developing strategies for improvement.
* Business Analysis - Experience performing general company and industry research including economic, market and competitive analyses.?
Consulting Skills
* General consulting skills, including: team facilitation, business case development, strong business analysis skills, process mapping, implementation planning
* Good organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and planning skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including: presentation, meeting facilitation, and documentation skills.
* Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing
* Project management: work plan definition and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project and Visio.

Position Requirements:
* Minimum of 2-3 years experience as an analyst working in web analytics, data mining, decision science, business/market analysis and/or similar analytical roles in consulting and/or industry.
* Preferred 3+ years working for a consulting firm as a business analyst, project lead
* Experience with statistical packages and tools such as SAS, SPSS, preferred
* Experience in data warehouse technologies (ETL, ODS, DBMS) preferred.
* Experience with a leading Web Analytics platform (Omniture, WebTrends) preferred
* Ability to write SQL queries against a database
* Experience with Microsoft BI technologies: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008, Microsoft Analysis Services 2005 or 2008, Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft PerformancePoint Server, Database Design and Architecture Skills, MOSS 2007, Strong SQL and MDX skills
* BS degree in Computer Science, economics, engineering, hard science (biology, chemistry), mathematics or business.
