S&P's Equity Research group is actively recruiting for a Product Development Specialist for it NYC headquarters. Major Accountabilities : Build industry and customer knowledge by regularly meeting with external customers to review market trends and product usage relevant to the assigned product set. Bring that customer focus to bear internally in order to improve existing products or for new product development. Become the subject matter expert on a given product set from the customer perspective. Work with a cross functional team to build products that can be sold through one or more customer segments. Work with development, project management, finance, marketing, legal/compliance and other internal departments to ensure stakeholder satisfaction with new and existing products. Develop tactical product priorities and business objectives. Compile annual volume, revenue and NOI forecasts and update metrics monthly to assist business development. Lead discussions with internal and external cross functional teams to identify product roadmap. Work with support staff to follow established guidelines for product support, escalation and communication to product development. Monitor product performance and provide reporting. Work with marketing team to articulate product, set goals, meet with customers, and provide focus to communication in several markets. Participate in sales calls. Under the supervision of a VP or Senior Director, build an understanding of respective customers and markets, assess the competitive landscape, and create product definitions. Analyze existing products and understand the market segmentation for existing products. Work collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and support functional managers who depend on information product platforms to service clients and effectively drive business goals Maintain an awareness of product fit within the overall business unit strategy Monetize S&P's $240,000 per year investment in Advisor Communications Services Drive usage and top-line revenue of Outlook Online by at least 10% per year Develop a plan to integrate Outlook Online into an existing platform to save offshore maintenance and upkeep costs of over $100k per year. Determine price and service bundling for the Equity Liaison Desk to increase top line revenue by at least 10% in the first year Bachelors required. MBA or Masters in finance preferred Minimum of 3+ years of product development and marketing experience for a Wealth Management product. Understanding of the financial services, specifically the financial advisor or financial data services marketplace Experience participating in the development of a technology driven financial services Knowledge of direct to consumer website business processes Experience in forming and maintaining partnerships, including selecting partner candidates Ability to make informed cost/benefit trade-offs for complex business decisions. Ability to develop product characteristics that meet the demands of the market as well as internal stakeholders. Ability to learn and execute the product development life cycle from idea generation through development, rollout and sun-setting of products. Ability to establish product ownership and interact with cross functional teams. Proven ability to participate in and influence cross functional teams. Strong analytical and planning skills Excellent communication skills and customer focused mindset. Develop an understanding of the internal stakeholders involved in product development and learn to give and receive the right communications at the right times.
