What You'll Do This is an ON-CALL position. An individual in this position is expected to provide a wide variety of writing support focused primarily on proposal development. Proposal development activities will involve working with a team to analyze the proposal requirements and articulate a compliant and compelling technical response. Using interviews and other research techniques as required, this writer will compose portions of the proposal response and review the product with technical experts, working to ensure the technical message meets the requirements of the RFP. This writer may also serve as an integrating author, bringing inputs from several sources together into a single voice for the proposal. This individual will work under the direction of the proposal manager or coordinator. In some cases, this individual may be called upon to help develop resumes for submittal with the proposal. Typically, proposals have very short development schedules, so good time management skills are critical to success in this position. Conduct interviews to gather information for technical publications and proposals Write, edit, and organize documents to meet requirements for technical and non-technical audiences. Plan content for technical publications, proposal materials, and resumes for proposals. Coordinate with managers and editorial and document production staff to meet specifications and deadlines. Research, write, edit and publish technical documents. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. This individual may also be tasked to develop papers and reports. What You'll Need B achelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus 6 or more years experience. Demonstrated expertise in written communication on a professional level Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Experience working on large publications and proposals is a plus. Experience working with or for the Department of Defense is also a plus. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level will be considered. Each higher level degree, i.e. Master's degree or Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience. R elated experience may be considered in lieu of education.
